Planning for Later Life Event

planing-for-later-life_-kulo-websiteAgencies who support older people in Knowsley are holding an event providing a range of information for older people and their families.

‘Planning for Later Life’ will take place on Wednesday 9th November 2016 at The Venue (formerly the Huyton Suite). Local older people and their relatives are invited to drop in at any time between 2pm – 7pm.

The event will be a market place of experts covering a wide range of topics relevant to later life planning. The event will include information about:

Making a Will, Power of Attorney, Arrangements for Pets, Housing Options, Extra Care, Equity Release, Home Adaptations, Benefits Advice, Pensions,  End of Life Care, Funeral Planning and much more!

Pat Blair MBE, Chair of Knowsley Older People’s Voice explained, “Many older people prefer not to think about the inevitable issues that they, or their relatives, will need to do deal with in later life. However, addressing them in good time can be better than leaving things until some crisis occurs, when they find themselves dealing with the emotional and financial burden at an already difficult time.

“We believe that older people and their families can be better prepared for the impacts of life-changing events by having greater awareness of these topics, and access to information that can help them plan and make informed choices.
