Autism Support Knowsley

talk_about_autismHeard about the Autism Support Group in Knowsley?

Parents and Carers who support Autistic siblings meet on the last Thursday of every month at Kirkby Leisure Centre from 7.30 – 8.30pm.

We think support groups are a positive and beneficial way to help you realise you are not alone and that there are other people who have the same problems – which can be a huge relief, plus sharing your problems with others can open up new ways of dealing with a particular problem or issue.

The Autism Support Group is a great place to meet with other parents & carers to talk, listen and share experiences – you’ll also receive a very warm welcome – we did!

Keep Fit for All

keep fit for allAnyone up for keeping fit? We want to make sure that opportunities to exercise and take part in physical activity is accessible to as many people as possible in Knowsley.

We as a community group think it’s important to focus on our ability rather than disability and importantly we can do it together if we want with our carers who are a big part of this (in light of charges being applied to carers who use Knowsley leisure facilities).

Fit for all is something we’d like to do, it’s a 10 week programme of motivational talks, aerobics and circuit training, plus a weekly weigh in (on wheelchair accessible scales).

The only catch is if we get enough interest from you the sooner we can get cracking and start it.
