Funding of a healthy kind

Health Grants KnowsleyKMBC’s Public Health Team are inviting community groups across Knowsley to apply for up to £1,000. It’s called the Small Grants for Community Health Initiatives 2013-14  and deadline for receipt of applications is Friday 5th July.  Groups in Knowsley can apply for up to a maximum of £1,000 in any one financial year, this may be as a one off grant or a number of grants not totaling more than £1,000.

Applications must focus on one or more of the following themes:

  • Encourage Knowsley residents to eat more healthily.
  • Encourage Knowsley residents to be more physically active.
  • Reducing smoking and the promotion of smoke free environments.
  • Reducing alcohol misuse and the promotion of responsible drinking.

Priority would be given to applications that demonstrate in their proposal:

  • How activities contribute towards improvements in wellbeing. For example, helping people to feel part of their community and socially connected to others.
  • How the proposed activity would be sustained in the future.
  • That the activities are for a programme of activities rather than a one off activity.
  • That the proposal will attract new people to join in the activities.

Do give Emma Thomas (KMBC Public Health Officer) a call or send her an email for an application form. Tel: 0151 443 4987 emma.thomas@knowsley.gov.uk
